There's no doubt about it; golf is becoming increasingly more prevalent every day. As more and more individuals become inquisitive about golf, there are obviously more individuals that are just now taking their opening steps in needing to discover how to try out the game.

There is little question about it; golf is becoming increasingly more widespread every year. When increasingly more people become interested by golf, you have obviously more individuals that are presently now taking their initial steps in needing to find how to play the game.

Practice and Patience

First thing the golf beginner has to understand is that golf is going to take time and a lot of patience to master suitably. In effect, the patience element never goes away in this great golf game! The next detail that is important for beginning golfers to understand is about practice. The amount of time you take doing quality practice time will get you to the period with your game you want to be at sooner rather than later.

What are Your Expectations?

Each individual could have diverse ambitions and expectations concerning how far they want to take their game. It could be a spouse who desires to learn enough concerning the game along with the golf swing to have the confidence to benefit from a day with their serious other, or somebody that someday wishes to play competitively. Obviously, aside from patience and practice, the hub of the game of golf is the golf swing.

The Foundation of Golf

The way you start out learning the workings of the swing is of vital consequence. It’s essential to learn some fundamentals before you even start to deal with the swing. The grip, the address position, the set up with the ball, plus your posture, are the foundations from which you should learn the swing. In the event you don’t take the time early on ingraining these elements into your consciousness, you might not ever strike the ball perfectly.

The Golf Swing

Therefore, when you’re working with your golf coach, be sure that you are not taught to merely begin striking at balls. Foremost you must build the correct foundation with all the previously outlined elements. When you do advance to swinging the golf club, it’s a great tip to start with a middle iron, either a six or seven iron. The middle iron is the best golf club to begin learning the swing.

For example, using a 6 iron, the ball position is in the center of your stance. This means that as you advance shorter and longer irons you will have a standard to work from. As well down the road, in case you get into problems with your swing, then you can go back to your central neutral position club of the six iron and find your rhythm and timing back.

When you understand that the longer the shaft on the golf club, the more time it is going to take you to master the golf club; it’s simply plain physics. Countless beginners feel the necessity to rush to hit the driver and consequently they never discover the correct swing. Always learn, fine tune, and channel your swing with a middle iron.

Taking the middle iron ball position as a guideline, your longer shafted clubs will have the ball position further toward your forward foot’s instep, whereas your shorter irons will have the ball placement more toward the back foot’s instep.

Back with the Foundation

After you get past your initial few lessons of practicing the foundations, you should not overlook them. Forever pay attention to your grip, position, set-up, and posture even as you start developing your swing.

Every time make sure to include a check of your golf foundation before you starting your swing. Take into account to be patient and spend some time on quality practice time.

Why would you want to look for free golf instruction online? Well, there is no getting away from the fact that golf is an expensive sport. Even if you have managed to acquire some cheap golf clubs, you still have to buy golf balls, a golf bag, golf tees, and other items of golf equipment.

Of course you will then have to take into account the green fees and you will have expenses of transportation to travel to the golf course. To save some money, in this article I will show you how to search for free golf instruction online.

If there is a certain area of the golf game that you want to perfect, like how to grip the golf club, you can usually find some help at online forums. By searching for “golf forums”, even though you will get a million or so results, the most popular golf forums will generally be on the first pages. Visit several of them to see if the question that you want answered is there and that the answers help you. You can always register for free and then ask your own question.

The next method for looking for free golf instruction online is by using Google search. Most people are not specific enough when they search; instead of searching for golf grip, where you will get many results not related like places to buy golf grips, search using quotation marks or inverted commas. Taking the golf grip as an example, search more specifically for “how to grip a golf club” or maybe “gripping the club” and the results will be very relevant to what you are looking for.

For those of you that are more visual learners then when looking for free golf instruction online in video format, search using the term “free golf videos.” You will find some great golf instruction videos and golf swing videos that will surely help you. Say you need to improve your golf swing, for example, then you would just have to search for “free golf swing videos” and choose the best resource from the first options.

The top golf websites all have various sections and most of them have a free golf instruction category that can be helpful. The following golf sites all have golf lessons from teaching pros, golf swing tips, golf instruction videos, article and video lessons, and other formats for learning: golfillustrated.com, pga.com, golf.com, and golflink.com.

Finally, check out the following two golf sites which are full of free golf instruction online. First, golf-online-tips.com has lots of free golf tips and golf tips for beginners covering every area of the game of golf. Second, you will find a golf video site at golf-online-videos.com which has hundreds of free golf videos that you search for.

The Internet is still a great resource for free stuff like free golf instruction online. You have to remember though, that when you search you have to use more specific search terms or use quotation marks. A lot of people can’t seam to find what they are searching for as they use very general search queries. By persistently searching you can uncover a lot of good free golf instruction and save some money as well as help you with your golf game.

Do you hit a lot of fat golf shots? If so, don’t worry because curing the fat golf shot is not very difficult. More than likely, what is happening is your back shoulder is dipping towards the ground on your downswing. You may or may not realize it but that is what is happening. The fat golf shot often occurs when a golfer is trying to really hit the ball hard to get some extra distance.

Alright, grab a club and let’s demonstrate what is happening. Perform your normal backswing but hold the club at the top. When a golfer tries to gain extra distance he will tend to move his hips horizontally towards the ball to gain momentum. This will also cause the back shoulder to dip and results in a fat golf shot.

Ok, so we know what causes our fat golf shots. Now what can we do to correct it? The key to correcting the fat golf shot is keeping our hips very still so they do not move horizontally and not letting our back shoulder dip down. If you are looking for some extra power in your shot, try to generate it from your arms and torso rather than the hips.

As you perform a backswing, try to get your leading arm as straight as possible once you reach the top. Begin the downswing with the leading arm fully stretched and extended. Make sure that your hips do not move horizontally at this point. Practice doing this over and over again until you get the movement right. This is a very important tip if you are looking to cure the fat golf shot.

Try to keep the leading shoulder straight and down at all times. This will make sure that your golf swing is on the right plane. Never let your shoulders come up or move backwards. This would end up in a golf slice or a fat golf shot.

As you can see, curing the fat golf shot is not rocket science. It is really pretty simple once you break down the golf swing and see exactly where you have gone wrong.

The biomechanics of a golf swing is a very hot subject within the golf industry. There are countless books that have been written about it. These books break down every little detail of the golf swing step by step. This could be a good thing but these books are so boring that reading them can put you to sleep fast.

If you are reading this, then more than likely there is something wrong with your swing. Why else would you search for the “biomechanics of a golf swing” on the web? Trying to figure out what is wrong with your mechanics can be a tough task. Are you slicing the ball, hooking, hitting behind it, or topping it? All of these things can be detrimental to your game. The good news is I can help you out.

The Problem With Most Biomechanic Golf Swing Books

I have a real problem with most golf books out there. Most of these books are looking at a pro such as Tiger Woods and breaking down his swing step by step. So, why is this a problem? Don’t I want to be able to swing a club like Tiger?

The problem with studying Tiger’s golf swing is that no matter how much you and I study it, we will NEVER be able to swing the club like Tiger. That’s probably not what you want to hear, but it is true. Just read Tiger’s book “How I Play Golf and you will quickly notice that he focuses on proper course management and trouble shots rather than the mechanics of his swing. Tiger does this because he knows that breaking down his perfect swing step by step will not improve the golf game of the average golfer. The average golfer, like you and me, cannot copy it.

The Biomechanics of a Golf Swing:

Now that we agree that we will never have a golf swing like Tiger’s Woods, What are our options? Do we have to continue to slice, hook and top the ball and never achieve the scores we want? Absolutely not!! There is a better solution. Rather than making it really technical and difficult to understand, your swing biomechanics need to be simple and easy to perform. If there are just a few common positions within your golf swing that you can CONSISTENTLY develop, you will improve your golf game very quickly. Your shots will be straighter and have more distance.

You need to develop a simple golf swing. A swing that can be easily repeated, time after time without any thought or conscious effort. Try not to over-complicate the golf swing. The only areas we should be concerned about are the setup, backswing, and impact. Anything more is just making it harder than it needs to be and makes it more difficult to develop consistent muscle memory.

The Simple Golf Swing breaks down the golf swing into 5 steps. Each step is simple to learn and builds onto the next. This system will have you hitting the ball farther and scoring better than you ever have. To learn more about the Simple Golf Swing visit the links I have below:

Today’s topic is an area in your golf swing that is sometimes neglected. It is not really talked about too often, and that is…..how to properly rotate your hands through the ball. Lucky for us, this golf tip is simple to implement and will have a positive impact on your game if done correctly. Let’s take a closer look….

-

Tips To Improve Your Golf Swing: Rotating Your Hands Through The Ball At The Point Of Impact

The main focus of today’s lesson is to make sure you are in the perfect position at the point of impact. The angle of the club head will determine the outcome of your shot whether that is hitting it straight, slicing it, hooking, etc. Now grab one of your irons and perform your regular swing. What we want to look for is the position of your hands and forearms at the point of impact.

Alright, get back into the impact position, acting like you are about to hit the golf ball. Now…. one thing we want to focus on is keeping our wrists straight and not letting them bend to the left or right at impact. Bending your wrists is known as a “wrist break” in the golf world, and it is not something that we want. A wrist break at impact will most likely cause a slice. However, what you do want is to “flip” your hands through the ball at impact. So, how do we learn how to do this? This little exercise should help you out with that….

The Wrist Watch Exercise

Ok, the easiest way for us to learn the proper form is if we can see the correct moves to make. This can be done easily with a simple wrist watch. So, go grab one…

Now that you have your watch let’s get started. The face of the watch should be pointing toward your target, this will probably be the green, as your leading arm approaches impact. Now when you come to the impact position, TURN YOUR HANDS OVER so the watch face is pointing towards the ground. This move forces your trailing wrist and forearm to “flip” on top of your leading wrist and forearm. Practice this technique several times so that it becomes a completely natural movement within your golf swing.

Properly rotating your wrists through the ball at impact will automatically “close” your club face which reduces that nasty slice and improves your total distance. This move will both reduce your slice, and add distance.

When implementing this tip, it’s important to note that your forearms should be working together. Keep your forearms as close to each other as possible through the impact zone.
