There is a lot to do when you are preparing for a golf tournament. By taking the right steps you can make it go as smoothly as possible. Just take your time when planning and watch the costs and everything should turn out alright.

Try to stick to deadlines and plan your tournament well in advance. This may give you more time to iron out any financial matters that need to be dealt with.

Go through the details with a fine toothed comb and watch out for any last minute changes that could have a serious effect on your plans. If any of your planning committee is not as golf wise as yourself then do not let them plan anything alone. They should always be with somebody that has a little experience of golf to assist them.

By organizing a 15 strong committee to help you should be able to handle everything that is thrown at you. This committee can be responsible for organizing teams as well as sponsors. Make sure that everybody is aware of their targets so that they can achieve them efficiently.

Despite your best organizing skills, if you receive a poor turn out for the tournament then you have failed somewhere in the marketing plan.

Another good idea may be to build a website for the tournament that both the organizer and those attending can check on for any details pertaining to the actual event.

Try to choose the best quality golf course to stage the event. By opting for a top golf course and the best possible planning and marketing you have a great chance of this tournament being a roaring success.

If it is organized correctly then the tournament should not lose you any money on unforeseen circumstances. Some of these golf club staff members may also help with the running of the tournament as well as putting up the sponsor signs and the handing out of prizes among other things.

In the world of business, just doing your job well isn’t always enough to get you that corner office. Often it’s how you play the game and sometimes that game is golf. Golf has long been a past time used in business to build relationships but it can be a deal breaker if you don’t know a driver from a putter.

If you find yourself accepting an invitation to a golf outing from a big client it probably is a good idea to say yes, even if you are new to the sport. To decline might be offensive, so it’s best to just “go with it” and do your best.

So, what do you do? The best course is to go ahead and accept the invitation whether or not you’re the next Tiger Woods. Be positive about it when you RSVP. Let him know you appreciate the invitation.

Ok. So, you’ve accepted but you still don’t know how to play. Don’t despair.

There are ways of catching up quickly. You won’t look like an expert in just a few days or weeks but you’ll be able to play the game without embarrassing yourself.

Your best bet is to find a golf pro and take a few lessons. Their hourly rates are usually reasonable and can range from $8 to $100 if they are popular.

Maybe you’ll get lucky and you will find a golf instructor willing to give you a package deal or a special on their daily rates.

Give your instructor all the details about your upcoming golf game. And explain about your lack of experience. It will help him equip you with the basics to get through a game without embarrassing yourself, too much.

In the end, your score isn’t what’s important. It’s bonding with your client, having fun and furthering your career that really matters.

Having your things organized and handy is probably not the secret to better golf, nevertheless it absolutely improves the golfer's mind-set.

Having ones stuff organized and handy definitely isn’t the secret to better golfing, but it undeniably improves the golfer’s attitude. Particularly when you travel with your golf clubs, it’s important to know that your gear is safe and sound, and also that you’ve got a place for every thing you will need.

Golf Travel Bags And Travel Covers

With a lot of makes and features from which to choose, you can find the ideal golf travel bag and cover to your requirements. Regardless of whether you are a basic type of golfer who just wishes to ensure the clubs will be safe and sound, or should you be one of those linksters which needs room for a cooler inside your golf bag, presently there are a variety of durable, convenient golf travel bags from which to choose.

Combos: The Easy Way

Combination golf travel bags/ carrier combos can give you the very best of both worlds: they are designed to weigh about the same as a ordinary golf bag, plus they make for easier travel and less bulk to pack. They may be bought with wheels, for ease in getting about the airport terminal or over to the cart. Designs vary from sleek metal alloy to padded, reinforced cloth. If you’d like the convenience of a single piece of luggage which switches quickly to a highly functional golf bag for the course, the combo golf travel bag/carrier could possibly be the ideal choice for you.

Golf Travel Bag With Cover: Familiarity Breeds Comfort

However, some golfers have their bags set up just how they want them and see no reason to break everything out and re-pack for any journey. In that situation, adding a durable bag cover or case to your equipment can make a whole lot of sense. They are produced so that you can easily pack your travel bag inside, button everything down, and you are all set to go. Wheeled styles can be obtained, as well as unique space-saving models which include “hideaway” construction in order to ensure it is easier to store the case when it’s not being used.

Consider Your Needs

If you travel infrequently, it probably doesn’t make sense to spend lots of money on a travel case or high-end golf travel bag. However, when you consider what you’ve invested in your clubs, shoes, and other gear (not to mention all those lessons, right?), you won’t want to skimp on protection for your investment. Take some time to look at all your options, think about how often you’ll use the bag, and take it from there.

Trying to obtain the very best deals on Discount Golf Bags, in that case pay a visit to Clive’s website to discover the best information on Cleveland Golf Bags to suit your needs.

'Drive for show, but putt for dough' is the phrase we've all seen and learned from watching professional golfers in every tournament and championship either live or on TV.

‘Drive for show, but putt for dough’ is the phrase we’ve all seen and learned from watching professional golfers in every tournament and championship either live or on TV.

The masters of golf can drive a ball from here to eternity, but it all boils down to how many strikes of the ball it takes to put the ball in the hole. The long accurate drives don’t amount to anything if you’re unable to putt the ball accurately.

The choice of putter is very important, but knowing how to use that putter consistently, is even more important. For example, I’ve had the same putter for fifteen years, so I know what it feels like in my hand, I know it’s weight and I know how all that plays into my putts.

Putting takes a lot of practice. Typically, we drive the ball eighteen times in a game, but putt at least double that number. So doesn’t it stand that we should practice our putting at least twice as much as driving? If you can’t get to the practice green regularly, just practice on your carpet at home.

But bear in mind that the ball will never make it to the hole, if it doesn’t have enough wallup behind it to get it in there. So, why not take the time to get down on the ground to look at the path your ball must run to the hole. Does it slope one way or the other? Does the path run uphill or downhill?

So, stand with your feet spread apart for balance and line up the putt. Keep you hands, arms and shoulders completely still. Imagine that you are a “bobble head” but that you move from just below your chest. Keep your head directly over the ball. Pull your club back; keep your hands, wrists, arms and shoulders steady – the movement comes from your chest. Hit the ball, following the ball through with your club.

Learn from each putt and remember the lesson. Practice, practice, practice!

The term ‘the long game’ is used to refer to the drives (shots off the tee) and fairway shots, which means every shot with the exception of the ones you make to actually get onto the green.

Since each golf hole has a different difficulty level, different par and distinctive hazards, telling you to use your driver on every tee would blatantly be quite wrong.

But don’t worry about it. This is something that you will have to learn with experience as you learn the various types shot you need to make, which will vary according to the club, the placement of the ball and your own personal style of swing.

As a rule of thumb, the lower the number of the club, the longer and lower your ball will travel through the air. For example, a 4-iron will make the ball travel on a long and low trajectory and will most likely roll when it hits the ground, whereas a 9-iron will give the ball much more loft and it will go less distance both in the air and over the ground.

Don’t the professionals on the television make it look easy? They whack the ball long and straight time after time after time and never slice the ball sending it a sickly eight or nine feet or miss the ball altogether.

One of the most important parts of the game is the drive. If you spend a few hours at the driving range you will see quite a big improvement in your long-distance shots. Use the same club in this experiment to see what affect it has, if you move the ball backward or forward or in your stance. And, if you can, take a lesson or two from a pro, to learn the proper swing from the start.

You must master the long game as it will help you get to the green in much fewer strokes, which will keep your score and frustration levels down. Don’t forget that it takes a long time to be consistently consistent and always remember: you’re supposed to be enjoying yourself! So go and enjoy yourself.

For the serious golfer, very few accessories (other than a genuinely great swing) are usually as important as a discount golf bag. When you have at one’s fingertips everything you need for ones game, you’ll be able to relax and also focus on striking the golf ball and also having a lot of fun. There are several alternatives in discount golf bags available to choose from, why don’t we have a look at some and start to narrow down the field.

“Professional” Style Discount Golf Bag or “Practice Bag?”

For those who participate in lots of golf and you also like to walk, you actually may want to consider adding a practice bag to all your equipment. Practice bags are very light-weight, so they never wear a person out as much during the round of golf. More recent brands can be bought in a variety of resilient fabrics that will stand up to years of continual use.

However, for those who generally ride or perhaps use a pull cart, there is nothing such as the convenience along with “class” of an full-size, pro-style discount golf bag. Quite a few full-featured bags also double as golf travel bags, which can be extremely handy for the true devotee that does not go anywhere without their golf equipment.

All In One Travel Golf Bag Or Combination?

You could possibly currently have the right golf bag and have your gear all stowed and also set up exactly the way you need it. In that case, you’ll want to find a very good, durable travel cover to go over your bag. Hint: even when your golf bag has a snap-on hood for you to enclose the golf clubs, some sort of travel cover is certainly still a good idea. There’s nothing more trying compared to standing at the airport terminal luggage claim and also seeing your clubs appear out of the chute…one at a time. You can purchase hard travel covers or even soft travel covers for ones discount golf bag, depending on your taste. Then again, the combination models are also incredibly convenient.

They are able to supply all the storage that you’re used to with your usual bag, but in addition convert with ease to a secure travel container for your golf clubs and gear-and a number of types weigh about the same as a normal bag. Which will genuinely be a time- and also space saver when you find yourself traveling with your .

Hard-cover Or Maybe Soft-cover?

Once more, the actual final decision concerning a hard-cover travel case or a soft-cover golf bag which has a travel cover is actually your decision. A few golf players favor the hard-cover models due to their superior protection they offer with regard to clubs as well as equipment, compared to a regular discount golf bag.

Others cite the better portability of the actual hard units; they are less difficult to wheel around. However the soft golf bags with travel cases have got their supporters, too, often because of the lighter weight and also increased overall flexibility, for those occasions you might want to cram in “just 1 more” sleeve of balls.

Discount Golf Bags come in many makes and models and and if you are in the market to buy one you should read our FREE advice about them, by visiting http://www.discount-golf-bags.com/.

The popularity of the game of golf has increased tremendously over the past forty-five years, giving us great champions like Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods and world-renowned courses like Pinehurst, St. Andrews, Augusta National and the Blue Monster at Doral.

The popularity of the game of golf has increased tremendously over the past forty-five years, giving us great champions like Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods and world-renowned courses like Pinehurst, St. Andrews, Augusta National and the Blue Monster at Doral.

Why should playing golf have taken off like that? I think it has to be because by playing golf you are being active outdoors with friends or colleagues competing in a leisurely game that you can never perfect.

Your scorecard shows your progress, or lack of it, and this can spur you on to want to play again.

Here follows an elementary lesson for those who know nothing about golf.

A round of golf is usually played on an eighteen hole course. Each hole has its ‘par’, which is the total number of tee shots (drives), fairway shots, chips (short shots near the ‘green’) and putts on the green, it should take to sink the golfball in the hole.

The par number is based on the length and difficulty of the hole. Pars range from 3 to 6. If you get the ball in the hole in five shots on a par five hole, you “made par.” If it took you six shots, its called a bogie, if you made it in four, its a birdie.

‘Hazards’ or obstructions are usually placed before all the holes. Ponds, sand bunkers and trees are positioned in such a way as to make it more difficult to reach the green. Novice golfers should try to find a course with fewer hazards, which is therefore easier to play.

Players mark their own scorecard with the cumalative total of shots taken for each hole. After playing all the holes, the players add up their own scorecards and the one with the lowest score is the winner.

Please don’t take your score or your lack of skill to heart when you are a beginner golfer, because, although the professionals make it look simple, it takes many years to play the game well.

It makes very good sense to take a few lessons from the course pro, when you are just beginning to learn to play golf, because then you will learn how to stand and swing the golf club correctly.

So when looking at used golf clubs, what should we know?

With the economy the way it is and the price of new golf golf clubs being what they are many individuals have turned a corner and began buying used golf clubs. The cost is the main reason people give for purchasing used golf clubs. It is also good to think of the environment on it as well since the used set you bought is not going to end up in a landfill anytime soon. So as we go into this we need to know what to look for when purchasing a set of used golf clubs.

The face of the clubs head need to be the first thing that you look at to make sure that there is not much wear. Many times golf clubs that have been well loved and used over time will develop a shiny worn spot in the center of the face. If you find a set of clubs with this problem you need to keep looking as it will not hold the ball like you need it to. Make sure the grooves still have well-defined edges and stay away from used golf golf clubs that show indentations in the club face as these can affect the ball flight.

Another important thing to look for in used golf clubs is the shafts. Make sure graphite shafts don’t have worn areas or indentations that could cause weakness. Make sure that you test the shaft by twisting the head and the grip in separate directions. If you don’t feel a lot of resistance, you will know that there is some weakness in the shaft. This is only an appropriate test if the shaft is graphite. If the shaft is made out of steel, then you simply need to look down the shaft and make sure that it hasn’t been bent and re-straightened.

The grips in used golf clubs are also something that you must pay attention to. Common things that you need to be aware of will be splits in the grip, worn spots, and cracks. Used golf golf clubs can have new grips installed on them, but it is not cheap and can add a cost factor of around 6 to 15 dollars for each one of the clubs.

Are all of the clubs consistent with each other? Line them all up in a row and make a comparison. Make certain that all of them look the same and were all from the same set of golf clubs. You want your used clubs to all be the same make and model that they are supposed to be. You can throw off the progression of your lofts throughout the set by mixing and matching.

Compare prices for new clubs versus what you will be paying for your used golf clubs. Sometimes you can get a new set for less than what the used set is selling for. You can also find some great discounts at golf stores, so don’t jump in too quickly to buy your used golf club.

Until you make a few test swings with a set of used golf golf clubs, you will never know how well they will perform. Find a good location that you can take a few test swings to see how they are going to feel.

You can save a lot of money on the most high-priced aspect of the game by purchasing a set of used golf golf clubs. However, be careful and know what you are doing before you buy. The difference that it can make in the set you choose is huge.

There are literally thousands of sites via the internet in which you are able to order golf equipment available for sale and many of them even possess second hand sets. If you have never considered golf utility clubs though you may truly want to have a look. Learn more info at http://golfutilityclubs.com.

We've all the seen the incredibly long yet accurate drives of Tiger Woods. The ball flies through the air and lands in the middle of the fairway, 300 yards away.

We’ve all the seen the incredibly long yet accurate drives of Tiger Woods. The ball flies through the air and lands in the middle of the fairway, 300 yards away.

The green-eyed monster of envy rises in us as we wonder if we could ever possibly hope to drive like that. Fortunately, long drives are not the be-all-and-end-all of the game of golf.

So, we get to the ’short game’ because without decent short game skills, all those great long drives are not worth a candle.

We call the ’short game’ those shots that get you onto the green from roughly a hundred feet away from the hole, no matter whether it’s from the fairway, a bunker, the rough or a drop zone. It includes all chips, sand shots and pitches.

It is in this middle stage of the game of golf that you get to use the higher numbered clubs, your pitching iron and sand wedge or lob wedge.

You will find practice areas on most golf courses. You really must spend some time working on hitting the ball onto the green from various distances. Try to hit a ten-foot circle in the centre of the green at first. Experiment using your wedges, but remember that what works well for one person, might not work so well for you and your particular swing.

After you have got into the habit of being able to perform this skill consistently, it’s time to start practising in a sand bunker. Being able to get the ball out of a bunker can cut your score dramatically.

The way to get out of a bunker is to place your feet firmly in the sand with your left foot turned to point towards the hole. Draw an imaginary 4-inch circle around the ball and try to hit the outer edge of that circle with a short, sharp chip.

Take lots of sand with your ball and swing through completely. Don’t decelerate at all when or after you hit the ball. It should pop up onto the green and stop. This doesn’t work well though unless the sand is dry, soft and powdery. On hard surfaces, you might need to avoid actually hitting the sand at all.

However, as in every skill in the game of golf, it is only continual practice that will help you to improve your game.
